About the Logo

PWR TRP, an alias used by Austin-based DJ Luis Keetley, mixes a variety of electro genres with a twist of rock, hip-hip hop, and pop ranging over decades.

We wanted to capture electric energy, utilizing a spectrum of vivid colors, while creating a grungey texture that felt very sleek. Including a logo legible in a solid color to be used across flyers and other print material. With this in mind, a colossal form utilizing Montserrat font with a slightly warped pull was the solution.

I wanted to make this logo stand out amongst other DJ logos through a crowded and busy nightlife. I used classic CMYK values to give a retro ‘throwback’ feel. And a destructive tear effect that gives visual vibration and movement.
