Laura Sandefer

Thought leader and co-founder of Acton Academy.

Branding & logo | Website Design

  • Laura Sandefer is a speaker, thought-leader, and co-founder of Acton Academy. A learning-driven community that engages children in strengthening their critical thinking skills, turning learning up-side down by equipping children to share learning with each other in a close-knit community with high standards of excellence.

Some important goals were to create a site that is for parents of the children in the Academy, seeking support, knowledge, and staying up to date with recent news. The site needed to be visually engaging within her branding language, informative, organized for her media content, and embrace her fresh perspective on children’s growth and learning.

This project was designed and developed for pushing personal digital growth for Laura Sandefer in coordination with the team during my role as a Lead Graphic Designer at Armada Digital Agency.

Note about the design

The design direction was inspired by traditional book printing as the teaching methods used in these academies are of a traditional critical thinking approach, the Socrates method. It was important to Laura to show photography of the children and their engagement with their learning environment.

The use of color was created to convey a sense of peace and calm. Encouraging children to take on a journey of growth, critical thinking, and establishing independence can be difficult for parents as their children learn necessary independence skills.

The purpose of the design and site is to put parents at ease, be a source of information for the Academy, show how a parent can get involved, while learning about Laura and her mission.
